Going to the dentist doesn’t have to be an anxiety-producing experience. At Treasured Teeth, we believe it can be downright fun. Our team takes a friendly, welcoming approach while performing our comprehensive dental services. So who’s the pediatric dentist kids and parents love? That’s easy — it’s Dr. Deren Tippets and Dr. Michelle Lacy!

Our Pediatric Dental Services

No two mouths are the same. Your child’s dental needs may be markedly different from their siblings’, even. Fortunately, we offer a wide range of treatments to meet the complex and varied needs of growing children. We’ve listed some of our most popular treatments below. Which would your child benefit from most?

Checkups and Cleanings

Patients of all ages should visit the dentist every six months, but these routine appointments are perhaps even more important for little ones. Because the tooth enamel doesn’t fully harden until the middle teenage years, children are especially at-risk of tooth decay and infection.

During a preventive appointment, our team will gently remove plaque and tartar buildup from around the teeth and gums. We’ll also talk to your child about better brushing and flossing — no matter how hard you try to get them to clean their teeth properly, we know most kids could use some help in that department. And at the end of the visit, they’ll get a new toothbrush and other dental goodies, as well as a fun toy to take home!

Dental Sealants

Sometimes, preventing cavities is as easy as shielding the tooth enamel from the bad stuff that causes decay. Dental sealants are a thin protective layer we paint directly onto the back molars. Here, they prevent the buildup of acids, bacteria, and food particles that easily get trapped in this part of the teeth. Dental sealants are painless and applied within minutes at the end of a checkup and cleaning.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

If your little one does get a cavity, you don’t have to worry about a silver filling marring the appearance of your favorite smile. Tooth-colored fillings made of biocompatible composite resin blend beautifully with the surrounding tooth enamel, and they also require less removal of the healthy tooth enamel to allow for more conservative dentistry overall.

Dental crowns are necessary for more significant decay or if your child sustains a serious dental injury. We’ll work hard to prevent these issues from developing, but if it’s needed, you can feel good knowing a dental crown will save the damaged tooth to keep your little one’s natural smile intact.

Space Maintainers

Sometimes the primary (baby) teeth don’t fall out right when a permanent one is ready to replace it. In these cases, a space maintainer is needed to maintain the proper alignment of your child’s smile.
