What to Do in Montrose
There probably aren’t many dental practices that can say they are just minutes away from one of the most remarkable national parks in the United States. Black Canyon National Park was carved through solid granite over millions of years. The dark canyon walls drop a breathtaking 2,700 feet to the Gunnison River below.
Summer activities in the Black include hiking, fishing, camping, rock climbing and horseback riding. In winter there is cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Pack a healthy picnic lunch for you and your children and enjoy a day at the dentist and the Black!
If the weather isn’t cooperating for a day outdoors, then pick one of the great museums in Montrose. The Museum of the Mountain West takes you back in time to the old west. You’ll get to go inside historic buildings and see rare artifacts.
Ute Indian Museum brings the culture of this tribe to life today. There are hands-on programs and changing exhibits. The Montrose Historical Museum is in the historic Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Depot. You’ll see how pioneer families lived and travelled by stage coach.
